D’oh! An analysis of the medical care provided to Homer Simpson
In this article in the Canadiam Medical Association Journal, Dr. Robert Patterson - a general surgeon from Leamington, Ont. - and Dr. Charles Weijer, Assistant
Professor and Bioethicist at Dalhousie University,Halifax, discuss the state of our healthcare system by comparing the two doctors featured in The Simpsons. It's thought-provoking and funny.
Discussing Dr. Hibbert, the authors say "Generally the quality of care he provides is solid, although there was an incident when he accidentally left the keys to his Porsche inside a patient. We decided to ignore this incident, since such a mishap can befall any physician."
