I've never been able to find the words to express how profoundly I loved my father. He delighted in nature and watching things grow. His garden was his pride and joy, and he weeded and watered and tended it daily so the plants grew strong and healthy. It only occurs to me now that he did the same with his two sons.
Today, I planted a Purple-Leaf Plum tree in our backyard. I'm going to enjoy watching it grow.
