Astranaut - Holy Cow We're Small! Biggest Stars to Biggest Galaxies

Astranaut - Holy Cow We're Small! Biggest Stars to Biggest Galaxies

This links to a fascinating chart illustrating just how insignificant our little planet is in the Universe. Now, just imagine if our Universe was just one of an infinite number of universes in the Multiverse. Kinda makes you think, doesn't it?

I think I'll have a sandwich.

Save Constellation

LISTEN to Obama's lies about his space policy in his own words, then see exactly what damage he's done.

NASA Administrator Meets With Reporters

This is kinda long, but informative. You learn that not even NASA's chief knows what they are going to do. What a freaking mess.

I wouldn't want to be in Charlie's shoes right now. It can't be much fun having to put a happy face on the dismantling of our manned space program in favor of Earth observation and monitoring "global warming". We better hope Russia feels charitable when their contract to provide seats on the Soyuz expires in 2013.

EDITORIAL: Outrageous judicial pick still requires scrutiny - Washington Times

On rare occasions I actually support the ACLU, but cases this former ACLU attorney has argued makes him unsuitable for the bench - unless you believe a judge should base decisions on "...one's ethinic and racial background".

Pelosi Spends Over $2.1 Million Tax Dollars On Planes, Booze and Food

Documents obtained under the Freedom of Information Act by Judicial Watch, which investigates and prosecutes government corruption, show Pelosi incurred expenses of some $2.1 million for her use of Air Force jets for travel over that time.
"Speaker Pelosi has a history of wasting taxpayer funds with her boorish demands for military travel," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said today. "And these documents suggest the Speaker's congressional delegations are more about partying than anything else."
Pelosi, D-Calif., recently joined President Obama on a Judicial Watch list of Top 10 corrupt politicians because of her "sense of entitlement," the group said.
"Politicians believe laws and rules (even the U.S. Constitution) apply to the rest of us but not to them. Case in point: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her excessive and boorish demands for military travel. Judicial Watch obtained documents from the Pentagon in 2008 that suggest Pelosi has been treating the Air Force like her own personal airline," the evaluation said.
Over $101,000 taxpayer dollars were spent on booze and food. You Californians must be so proud.

Lockheed Martin HULC Exoskeleton

The latest incarnation of LockMart's wearable robot. I sure does loves me a good exoskeleton.

Our Future On Hold

In yesterday's State of the Union address, Obama asked "How long should America put its future on hold?" Regarding America's future in space, the answer is at least two decades.

I've written many times how Obama's election would be a disaster for NASA, and unfortunately I'm about to be proven correct.

From the LA Times:

When the White House releases its budget proposal Monday, there will be no money for the Constellation program that was to return humans to the moon by 2020. The Ares I rocket that was to replace the space shuttle to ferry humans to space will be gone, along with money for the Ares V cargo rocket that was to launch the fuel and supplies needed to return to the moon. There will be no lunar landers, no moon bases.

'We certainly don't need to go back to the moon," one administration official said.

Instead, according to White House insiders, agency officials, industry executives and congressional sources familiar with Obama's plans, NASA will look at developing a "heavy-lift" rocket that one day will take humans and robots to explore beyond low-Earth orbit. That day will be years away.

The White House will direct NASA to concentrate on Earth-science projects -- principally, researching and monitoring climate change -- and on a new technology research and development program designed to someday enable human exploration of asteroids and the inner solar system.
