Sony's use of rootkit technology without user notification is outrageous and unethical. Even worse is Sony's response to this issue.
I own two Sony desktops and two Vaio notebooks; a Trinitron TV; and a Sony A/V reciever for my home theater. I carry a Sony Ericsson S710a cellphone. In spite of their high price, poor software and pitiful technical support, I like their stuff. However, I can't sanction this sort of corporate behavior.
