Because the TV system used on Apollo 11 wasn't compatible with broadcast television, the image that pretty much everyone on the planet saw on that historic day was from what was essentially a broadcast camera pointed at a monitor. Not exactly the best way to get a good image. The actual images were recorded on magnetic tape, but nobody knows exactly where they are. - RR
