Ashes Of A Hero

I just read an article on Space.com with the headline Private Rocket's Cargo Found: Ashes of Star Trek's 'Scotty,' Others Recovered
The payload container carrying experiments and the cremated ashes of some 200 dearly departed people - a cargo that includes remains of the beloved "Scotty" of "Star Trek" fame - has been recovered in the New Mexico mountains.

"It has been found. It is in good shape," Eric Knight, co-founder of the rocket firm UP Aerospace that launched the cargo, told SPACE.com Friday.
This infuriated me. One of the "others" not mentioned in the headline or the opening paragraphs was one Leroy Gordon Cooper, Jr. otherwise known as "Gordo" and one of the original Mercury Seven astronauts.

Now, I'm a Star Trek fan. I loved Scotty. But when we place an actor playing a heroic part above an actual Hero (and they don't get much more heroic than the Mercury astronauts) we have our priorities askew.

More proof there is no justice in this world.
