With friends like mine, lunchtime conversations are wide-ranging and often obscure. Yesterday it was what Billy Joel was talking about when he wrote "Paul is a real estate novelist" in the song "Piano Man". Today it it was the XB-70 Valkyrie, a prototype Mach 3 nuclear bomber from the early 1960's that's one of the most striking aircraft ever built.
Sadly, due to cost overruns and a change in strategy, only two were ever built (or so "they" claim) and of those, just one survives. I've been lucky enough to have seen it in person at the USAF Museum, but you'll just have to be satisfied with the video.
FYI - the line "Paul is a real estate novelist" is about a real estate broker who was a regular at the bar, and who always claimed to be working on a book. Joel figured Paul would never finish because he was always in the bar.
