Powered Exoskeleton Update
As my readers know, I just loves me some exoskeletons! From the first time I encountered the concept in Heinlein's "Starship Troopers" (note: please READ this book) I've been fascinated by the idea. There's been a lot of progress on this front in the past year or two, and they are moving closer to actual deployment. In fact, the project has moved from DARPA to the US Army Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center. The blog Defense Tech has an update on the goals of the project. Their main concerns are powering the things, and safety modes - if you're loading a thousand pound bomb on an aircraft and a system fails...well, it could ruin your day.
