Happy New Year (?)

Thought I'd take a moment from pondering and fretting about the impending collapse of Life As I Know It and wish you all a happy new year - as improbable as that will be.

The news is bleak. In San Francisco, a police shooting. In Dallas, a policeman killed. In Gaza and Israel, rocket attacks and retaliations, and the threat of conflict spreading across the middle east. Corruption in government. Corruption on Wall Street. The new administration plans to save the economy by spending additional trillions we don't have - which is of course how we got here in the first place. 

I don't know where we are going, but it probably involves some sort of a handbasket.
