New Unpressurized Logistics Carrier for Shuttle

NASA Set To Approve New Unpressurized Logistics Carrier for Space Shuttle Fleet

It seems that some new, larger payload canisters are needed if we're going to finish the space station before the Shuttle retires in 2010. There are many people questioning the wisdom of this, but it all boils down to whether or not you believe we should abandon the station (which I may write about in some depth in the near future). I hate spending the money ($120 million) on something that's only going to be used for a few years, but if we're going to both "finish" the station and retire the Shuttle ASAP, then I guess that's what is required.
