Sony VAIO® UX180P Micro PC

Sony VAIO® UX180P Micro PC

This thing is so freakin' cool...It's a tiny, pocket sized PC running XP Pro on an Intel Core Solo processor (1.2Ghz, 2MB L2 Cache), 512MB RAM and 30GB HD. It's got a 4.5" 1024x600 Touchscreen. It's got Bluetooth, built-in celluar data (Cingular EDGE), and 802.11a/b/g wireless. It has TWO cameras and a microphone. It has a biometric fingerprint scanner. It's got USB 2.0. It comes with a port replicator that adds Firewire, Ethernet, VGA out and AV out connections.

The cost? About $1800 (they're accepting pre-orders). That's cheap compared to what Samsung and others are charging for Intel UMPC/Microsoft Origami micro-tablets.

Since I can't buy one yet, I must write a Haiku about it:

warm in my pocket
connected to cyberspace
my VAIO of dreams
