Health Minister Kamran announced that Iran’s young scientists have produced a herbal remedy that boosts the human’s body immunity system against the HIV/AIDS virus, the APA reports.
“The herbal-made medication, we call it Imod, serves to rein the AIDS virus and redouble the body’s immunity. It is not a medication to completely kill the virus, it can be used besides other anti-retroviral drugs. The drug is that effective and safe with no proved side effects,” he noted.
The drug, made after five years of deep and arduous research, has been tested on 200 patients, and as the fifth generation of medications, is good to control the HIV/AIDS virus. The remedy will now be tested on thousands of patients again to assess its efficacy. /APA/

President Jammeh, who says he can also cure asthma, made his announcement to a gathering of foreign diplomats last month.Hmmm. So, you're either a witch or a doctor? Obviously, the Minister hasn't heard of Dr. Bombay.
“I can treat asthma and HIV/Aids... Within three days the person should be tested again and I can tell you that he/she will be negative,” he said in a statement.
“I am not a witch doctor and in fact you cannot have a witch doctor. You are either a witch or a doctor.”
Gambian Health Minister Tamsir Mbow says the herbal medicines are taken orally and applied to the body.
“We cannot actually tell you the type of herbs we are using presently, it will be known to the whole world later on,” Dr Mbow told the BBC.
Iranian President Ahmadinejad will tell us all about this on February 11th, however that's also when "The Iranian nation will celebrate stabilization and establishment of its nuclear rights" - which is being taken far more seriously. Of course it's very, very unlikely, but wouldn't it be interesting if Iran simultaneously cured AIDS and exploded a nuke?

my name is ANN and my husband in fact is H I V + . i am reading your information in anticipation that someday everyone that suffers from evil hellish sentance will be free of its grip.
I pray every day that some one will find the cure so i hope that this information is acurate and not just some cruel joke

It's not a joke, at least not on my part. These are quotes from legitimate news stories, and these leaders have actually made the claim they have a cure, however that doesn't mean their claims are true.
It's been my experience that if something seems too good to be true, then it's too good to be true. But there are always exceptions.
I hope they come up with a real cure for this AIDS soon. I just did a blog over on Highbrid Nation about the African President giving his people a "cure" for AIDS if any of you care to read it. It sa sad situation that I hope ends soon.
