NASA Budget Passed - Obama Wins, America Loses More Jobs

Wednesday Congress passed a NASA budget that is essentially what the administration wanted, and so the layoffs of our experienced space workforce are beginning.

In Utah, ATK is laying off 426 who worked on the Ares rocket motor since Ares, and the rest of the Constellation Program hardware which was to follow the Shuttle program, is dead.

In New Orleans, the production line that built the Shuttle's External Tanks has been shut down. This plant employed 1,438 people at the beginning of this year.

At Kennedy Space Center, today is the last day at work for about 1,100 employees of United Space Alliance and sub-contractors.

In Huntsville, Alabama some 150-250 layoffs are expected today. In Houston, 333 workers lose their jobs.

You'll be happy to know that NASA Administrator Charles Bolden was not in Washington during this important vote, since he was traveling to Saudi Arabia (among other places) for this weekend’s celebration of the 25th-year anniversary of a space shuttle mission that included the first Arab astronaut, proving that for Obama's NASA, "muslim outreach" is job-one.

I can not convey how much anger and disgust I have for this Congress. Please REGISTER and VOTE these worthless bums out of the offices they so dishonor.
