The Victims

On Monday, April 16 a madman murdered 32 students and faculty at Virginia Tech, pausing to send a package containing photos, videos and rambling rantings to NBC. These are turning up everywhere in the media and on the net. Distribution of this material to the public serves no purpose except to pander to morbid curiosity, and they encourage copycat killings. I've no doubt that other would-be killers are already thinking about what to put in their "media kit".

My decision not to post any of this madman's rantings on my obscure little blog will make no difference at all, but I'll be damned if I give that little piece of filth anything he wanted.

The lives lost were of immeasurable value. We lost artists, engineers, historians, biologists, instructors, architects...but more importantly sons and daughters, fathers and mothers. These are who should be remembered.

The killer and his rantings are of importance only to those who dissect and analyze them for clues in identifying the next madman.

Thanks so much for the link. It boggles my mind as to why serial kilers and mass murderers should have their names immortalized while the people they destroyed are simply erased.
